I just received a picture from the Ritz Theatre Company's production of Aida. This is one of my all-time favorite musicals to begin with but this production was moving, theatrical, inspirational and makes me cry each time I see it.
It is the story of an Egyptian Captain who is betrothed to the Pharaoh's daughter but falls in love with the Nubian Princess. Set in a time of war between Egypt and Nubia, timing is everything for these lovers. It is a contempory musical with powerful music and lyrics by Elton John & Tim Rice.
